Dorian Goian
Early CareerDorian Goian is a retired Romanian footballer who played as a defender. He made his debut for the Romanian national team in 2005 and went on to represent his country on the international stage.
Club Career
From 2004 to 2009, Goian played for Steaua București, a Romanian club based in Bucharest. In 2009, he made the move to Italian Serie A club Palermo.
In August 2010, Goian suffered knee and ankle injuries that sidelined him for 40 days. Despite this setback, he was able to return to action and continue his professional career.
Scottish Adventure
On July 25, 2011, Goian signed a three-year contract with Scottish Premiership club Rangers. He became a key player for the Glasgow-based team, helping them win the Scottish League One title in the 2012-2013 season.
After Rangers entered administration and were liquidated in 2012, Goian joined newly formed club Rangers Football Club. He remained with the club for two seasons before returning to Romania in 2014.
International Career
Goian made his debut for the Romanian national team in 2005 and went on to earn 34 caps for his country. He represented Romania at the 2008 UEFA European Championship, where the team reached the quarter-finals.
Retirement and Post-Playing Career
Goian retired from playing football in 2017 and began a career in coaching. He holds a UEFA Pro Licence and has worked as an assistant manager for Concordia Chiajna and Chindia Târgoviște.
