Following that, Guenter struggled to achieve podium finishes in the next season, only returning to the second position on one of the stages in early 2004. The following year, she had several second-place finishes and then once again emerged as the winner of the World Cup. Participating in the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin, she finished 14th in snowboard cross and fourth in parallel giant slalom. In the subsequent post-Olympic season, Guenter did not reach the podium in World Cup stages, but she managed to win at least once every year. In 2009, she achieved four victories, finished second in the World Cup standings for parallel disciplines, won the overall title, and also earned two silver medals at the World Championships.
