The Rise of Dside Band: Ukraine's First Teen Boy Band
Dside Band has boldly declared itself as Ukraine's inaugural teen boy band, captivating audiences with their vibrant performances that fuse energetic dance moves with captivating vocals. Their popularity has soared thanks to their YouTube series, "Dreams into Reality," which chronicles their journey to stardom.
Formation and Members
The seeds of Dside Band were sown in January 2016, when the aspiring singers were still students honing their dance skills at a renowned Kyiv choreography school. Inspired by the global success of One Direction, they set out to create high-quality music with impeccable choreography, drawing inspiration from Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, and American boy band PRETTYMUCH. Dance proficiency became a defining criterion for band membership.
Initially, a trio was formed, which later expanded to a quintet. Dside Band is now comprised of Daniil Dronik, Serhiy Misevra, Vlad Feničko, Oleh Hladun, and Artur Zhivchenko. Artur, the eldest, was born on August 3, 2000, while Daniil, the youngest, celebrated his birthday on May 14, 2004. Vlad and Serhiy share the same birth year (2002), and Oleh was born on November 7, 2001. Former members include Anton Kaplun, Dima Osypenko, and Kyrylo Lys.
Musical Journey
From its inception, Dside Band has serenaded listeners with love songs that resonate with teenage girls and boys. Hits such as "Devochka Kosmos," "Tornado," "Nravishsya Mne," and "Telefon" have become instant favorites in Ukraine and beyond. The band has consistently harnessed their energy, charisma, and ever-evolving dance routines to captivate audiences.
A&R team Alona and Yaroslav Dronik, along with Ruslan Makhov, have guided Dside Band's musical direction. Their debut album, "Tantsi Do Upadu," released in 2018, featured the hit title track penned by MONATIK, who had worked with Vlad on the third season of "The Voice. Diti." Not only did MONATIK provide the song, but he also assisted with its recording, sharing his expertise and offering encouragement.
Dside Band has collaborated with other talented artists, including Artem Pivovarov, who wrote "Bandity" for them. They have also performed alongside Maria Yaremchuk on "Dai Lyubov" and shared the stage with children's blogger Miss Nicole for a dance battle. Max Barskih and Anastasiya Kozhevnikova showed their support by appearing in Dside Band's music video for "Zachem."
With "Zachem," the band ventured into new lyrical territory, addressing the dangers of drug use. They hope to inspire their listeners and make a positive impact on the world. Other notable music videos from Dside Band, such as "Vremenno," "Bandity," and "Devochka Kosmos," have amassed millions of views on YouTube.
Present and Future
Dside Band continues to release singles, giving fans hope for an expanded discography beyond their debut album. Social media platforms like Instagram and VKontakte serve as channels to connect with fans, share updates, and showcase their latest photos.
The band's YouTube series, "Dreams into Reality," is still going strong, with new episodes garnering hundreds of thousands of views within days. Dside Band actively engages with their fans through social media, maintaining a strong online presence.
