Early Life and Education
Daulat Abdygaparov, a celebrated Kazakh and Russian actor, was born in the Jambyl region of Kazakhstan on March 27, 1972. After graduating high school, he pursued a career as a crane operator. While working, he attended the "Rampa" theater studio for three years. Experimenting with various professions, he also worked as a KAMAZ truck driver and a security guard.
Despite his diverse work experiences, Abdygaparov's passion for acting remained strong. He graduated from the law faculty of a university through correspondence and later enrolled in the Kyrgyzstan Institute of Arts under the mentorship of Chalabayev Egenberdy.
Acting Career
Abdygaparov's acting journey began with a cameo role in the 1998 film "The Magic Sponsor." However, it was not until 2005, with his role as Galdan Tseren in "Nomad," a Kazakh-French production, that he gained recognition.
His career continued to rise with roles in the television series "Frontier" and films such as "Shu-Chu" and "The Wind Man." He also appeared in smaller roles in "The Investigator," "Baksai," and "Mustafa Shokai." In 2011, he lent his voice to a character in the animated film "Cars 2," with voice auditions taking place in Los Angeles.
The years 2010-2011 marked a significant milestone in Abdygaparov's career. He starred in the critically acclaimed films "Liquidator" and "The Horde." His performance as the khan's captain in "The Horde" earned him further acclaim.
Russian Breakthrough
Abdygaparov made his Russian debut in the 2012 series "Classmates." He was then cast as Rakhim, a Tajik character, in the multi-part film "Chernobyl: Zone of Alienation."
In 2014, he starred as wrestler Kaurahmed Pasha in the biographical drama "Poddubny," alongside Mikhail Porechenkov. Abdygaparov expressed his excitement upon learning of his approval for the role and gifted Porechenkov with a backgammon set as a token of goodwill.
Later Career
Following "Poddubny," Abdygaparov appeared in numerous films, including "Grandpa of My Dreams," "Orleans," and "Happiness of the World." In 2017, he portrayed Mongolian military commander Subutai in the historical fantasy film "Legend of Kolovrat," directed by Dzhanik Fayziev. The film garnered positive reviews and showcased Abdygaparov's versatility.
Theatre Experience
In addition to his film work, Abdygaparov has participated in several theatrical productions at the Youth Theater in Kazakhstan. He notably played Wurm in "Cunning and Love" and Kabana in "Nauryz Duman."
Personal Life
Abdygaparov married Asel in 1993. The couple has four children: three sons and a daughter. Their eldest son, Ramazan, is a graduate of the circus college in Almaty and serves in the Presidential Regiment. Their daughter, Zhansaya, is a pastry chef, while their middle son is named Baikal and their youngest, born in 2011, is named Omar.
Abdygaparov is active on Instagram, where he shares personal photos and videos with his fans. He stands at a towering 200 cm (6'7").
Recent Projects
In 2018, Abdygaparov played Tulay in the multi-part series "The Golden Horde," a historical drama set in the 13th century. He continues to pursue his passion for acting, with upcoming projects in the pipeline.
