Early Life and Career in Vojvodina
Dušan Tadić was born and raised in Bačka Topola, Vojvodina, Serbia. His football journey began at the tender age of seven with local club AIK. At 14, he joined FK Vojvodina in Novi Sad.
In 2006, Tadić signed his first professional contract with Vojvodina. He made his Serbian SuperLiga debut at 18 and quickly established himself as a regular starter in the 2006/2007 season, playing 28 matches and scoring four goals.
European Experience with Vojvodina
Tadić represented Vojvodina in European competitions throughout his three seasons with the club. Notably, he appeared in both legs of Vojvodina's UEFA Cup qualification matches against Atlético Madrid in 2007. In the 2009/2010 UEFA Europa League qualifiers, he scored a goal against FK Austria Wien.
Move to the Netherlands: FC Groningen
In the summer of 2010, Tadić made the move to Dutch club FC Groningen for a fee of €1.1 million. Despite receiving offers from more financially lucrative leagues, he opted for Groningen to secure regular playing time.
Pacy Playmaker at FC Twente
Tadić's abilities as a playmaker blossomed at Groningen. In his debut season, he provided 21 assists in 41 matches, a tally surpassed only by Lionel Messi and Mesut Özil in Europe. In April 2012, he joined FC Twente on a three-year contract for a fee of over €7 million.
Southampton and English Premier League
In July 2014, Tadić moved to Southampton FC in the English Premier League.
International Career
Tadić has represented Serbia at various youth levels, including 23 appearances for the U-21 team. He was part of the Serbian Olympic squad at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has also earned five senior caps for the Serbian national team.
