Biography of Dustin Brown

Dustin Brown is a Jamaican-German professional tennis player. Standing at 196 cm tall and weighing 78 kg, he began his career in 2002. With a right-handed two-handed backhand, Brown is coached by Daniel Puttkammer.

Early Career

Brown started his professional career in 2002 and quickly made a name for himself. In 2007, he won his first ITF Futures tournament, followed by two more victories in this series in 2008 and 2009. He also triumphed in his first ATP Challenger Series tournament in Samarkand in 2009.

Continued Success

In 2010, Brown continued to showcase his talent by winning two Challenger tournaments in Aachen and Johannesburg. He made his debut in the main draw of an ATP tournament in Johannesburg in February 2010, reaching the quarterfinals. In June of the same year, he made his debut in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament at Wimbledon, but unfortunately, he was defeated in the first round.

Breakthrough and First Title

In July 2010, Brown reached the quarterfinals of the Newport tournament, propelling him into the top 100 tennis players in the ATP rankings for the first time. His breakthrough continued in September when he, alongside Roger Vasselin, won his first ATP title in the doubles competition at the Metz tournament.
