Biography of Edik Parseghyan

Edik Parseghyan is an Armenian statesman and military figure. He was born in 1962 and grew up in Goris, Armenia. He attended Goris Technical College from 1962 to 1967. After completing his education at the college, he served in the Soviet Army from 1967 to 1969.

In 1970, Edik joined the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Goris as a road control inspector. He held various positions within the ministry, including Senior Inspector from 1972 to 1977. From 1977 to 1982, he served as the commander of the special road patrol service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Armenia.

In 1982, Edik became the head of the State Inspection Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Goris. He held this position until 1990, when he was appointed as the head of the Goris Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the commander of the emergency situations department of the Goris district committee. During this time, he actively participated in the defense of Artsakh.

From 1995 to 1996, Edik served as the head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Armavir region. He then became the head of the department in Syunik region from 1996 to 1997. In 1997, he was appointed as the head of the State Inspection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Armenia and the USA.

In 2000, Edik was promoted to the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs in Armenia. From 2000 to 2004, he served as the governor of Syunik region. Since March 2004, he has been the head of the Department of Emergency Situations under the Armenian government.
