Early Life and Education

Eduard Gariyevich Mirakov was born on January 22, 1974, in Tbilisi, Georgia. His mother was Lyubov Vasilyevna Mirakova (née Bondarevskaya), and his father was Harry Sarkisovich Mirakov.

In 1994, Mirakov graduated from the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts (SPbGATI), now known as the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (RGISI), with a degree in "Theater Technology." His teachers included V.V. Bazanov, V.Y. Ryvin, A.V. Sologub, S.B. Chizhevsky, Y.A. Sheremet, and N.A. Yakimova.

Career at the Lensoviet Theater

Mirakov's career in the theater began in 1994 when he was invited by I.P. Vladimirov to join the Lensoviet Theater as the Head of Artistic and Production. In 1999, he became the Deputy Director for Artistic and Production, and from 2007 onwards, he served as the Theater's Executive Director.

Throughout his tenure, Mirakov was responsible for more than 150 productions as Technical Director and Technologist. He collaborated with renowned theater designers such as M. Kitaev, V. Firer, A. Orlov, É. Kapelyush, V. Okunev, A. Shishkin, A. Kozhenkova, M. Bryantseva, M. Azizyan, A. Lipovskikh, I. Dolgova, P. Kaplevich, V. Shilcrot, and A. Gumarov.

Collaborations and Artistic Achievements

Mirakov's exceptional skills and artistic vision made him a valuable collaborator for directors such as I. Vladimirov, V. Paži, Y. Butusov, V. Petrov, G. Trostyanetsky, M. Bychkov, V. Senin, and G. Strelkov. He became a de facto co-author of many original artistic solutions.

Academic Activities

In 1999, Mirakov began teaching at the Faculty of Scenography and Theater Technology at RGISI. He has taught courses in:

Notable Initiatives

In May 2019, Mirakov organized and led a creative laboratory, "Space of the Stage," focusing on contemporary scenography in collaboration with the Lensoviet Theater. He also arranged for the Lensoviet Theater to participate in international festivals.

In 2021, at Mirakov's suggestion and with the support of the Lensoviet Theater and RGISI, an exhibition titled "Dostoevsky and Theater. XXI Century" was held to mark the 200th anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky's birth.
