The Legendary Clown

Early Life and Circus Roots

Born on March 25, 1922, into a family of circus performers, Alexei Serebryakov began his acrobatic career at the tender age of six, joining his parents' act. In 1943, he partnered with his mother in an acrobatic duo, specializing in the "upper" role.

Debut as a Clown

In 1948, Serebryakov made his debut as a clown in the Gypsy Circus Collective. Two years later, he transitioned to the role of cower clown, a performer who fills the gaps between acts with tricks and stunts.

Acrobatic Prowess

As a cower clown, Serebryakov showcased his remarkable acrobatic skills. He performed daring feats such as a salto-mortale from a swing (with the Belyakovs) and a trampoline jump over 14 people (as he was "afraid" to jump over 13).

Conversation Master

Serebryakov's repertoire also featured conversationalrepertories, where he would engage in witty banter with the audience. He collaborated with the legendary clown Leonid Yengibarov before going solo.

Retirement

After a long and illustrious career, Alexei Serebryakov retired from the circus ring in 1994, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most renowned clowns of his time.
