Early Life and Education

John Doe was born on July 1, 1963, in Springfield, Massachusetts. He attended R.L. Thomas High School in Webster, New York, graduating in 1980. In 1984, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. He went on to pursue a doctorate in Physics at Stanford University, completing his studies in 1989.

Before joining NASA, Doe worked as a researcher in various scientific institutions in the United States. He specialized in solar physics and astrophysics.

NASA Career

Astronaut Selection (1994)
In December 1994, Doe was selected to join NASA's astronaut corps.
Training (1995-1996)

From March 1995 to March 1996, he underwent comprehensive astronaut training at the NASA Johnson Space Center.

Space Missions

STS-84 (1997)

Doe's first space mission was STS-84, launched on May 15, 1997, aboard the shuttle Atlantis. As a mission specialist, he assisted in the docking and work performed on the Russian space station Mir. The mission lasted 9 days 5 hours 19 minutes 56 seconds.

STS-106 (2000)

On September 8, 2000, Doe embarked on his second space mission, STS-106. Again flying aboard Atlantis, he helped deliver supplies to the International Space Station and prepare it for manned operations. The mission concluded on September 20, 2000, after 11 days 19 hours 11 minutes 1 second.

Honors and Recognition

Doe has been awarded the NASA Space Flight Medals for both of his space missions (1997, 2000).

Personal Life

John Doe remains unmarried. his hobbies include aerobatics, playing the piano, tennis, surfing, and traveling.
