Biography of Ekaterina Kmit
Ekaterina Kmit, a Russian actress, was born on January 26, 1967, in Moscow. She comes from a family of actors, with her mother, Inna Kmit, known for her role in the comedy film "She Loves You," and her father, Boris Bystroff, famous for his portrayal of Aladdin in a renowned fairy tale movie. Additionally, she is the granddaughter of Leonid Kmit, who played the iconic character Petka in the legendary film "Chapaev."
The 80s
Ekaterina made her debut in the film industry as a child actress in 1982, starring in Radomir Vasilevsky's children's film "4:0 in Favor of Tanechka." She completed her education at the Department of Variety and Circus Arts in the State School of Variety and Circus Arts in 1988, studying under the guidance of B. Breev. During 1988-1989, she performed at the "U Nikitskikh Vorot" Theater but eventually left due to personal reasons.
Work in Film
Throughout the early 90s, Ekaterina appeared in numerous films, including the political detective movie "House of Meetings," the mystical tragicomedy "Gongopher," and the action film "Rat's Corner." Reflecting on her roles in these movies, Ekaterina said, "I played in 13 films, mostly portraying drug addicts, prostitutes, and witches. However, my mother always supported me, encouraging me to be daring and find interest in the role of a prostitute. I never felt uncomfortable in intimate scenes due to my experience working in an erotic theater. In one of the films, they even created a role specifically for me, a witch living in a garbage bin in the city center. And yes, I was completely naked!"
Later Years
Starting from 1993, Ekaterina significantly reduced her on-screen appearances in movies. However, in the late 90s, she made a comeback with roles in the TV series "Transit for the Devil" and "Turetsky's March." Currently, Ekaterina's husband, Vladimir, works as a musician for the singer Lyubov Uspenskaya. Although she occasionally appears in commercials, Ekaterina still hopes to return to the film industry. She expressed her desire to act in comedies rather than erotic films, stating, "I would love to be in movies, but not in erotica. I prefer comedies. However, nowadays, detective movies dominate the industry."
