Early Life and Childhood
On May 11, 1997, in Can Tho, Vietnam, a baby girl was born and named Tran Dong Lan. Five months later, she was adopted by an American couple, Mary and Robert Condor, who gave her a new name: Lana Therese Condor. Her father was a prominent journalist who once led Yahoo! Sports and was twice nominated for the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in Literature and the Arts.
Condor's early years were spent in Chicago, but the family later moved to Washington State, where she took her first dance class. She continued her dance training in Seattle, specializing in ballet. At age 11, the Condors relocated to New York City, and five years later, they settled in Santa Monica, California.
Education and Career Beginnings
From a young age, Condor excelled in both academics and ballet. She studied at the Los Angeles Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and the Kirkland Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. Encouraged by her parents, she also pursued acting with the same zeal. Condor believes that her ballet training gave her the confidence and physical presence that helped her succeed in film and feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Path to Film
Condor began her acting journey by attending six different schools and programs, including Notre Dame Academy Schools, New York Film Academy, and Loyola Marymount University (which she later deferred).
Film Debut and Breakthrough Roles
In 2014, Condor made her stage debut in Notre Dame Academy's production of "Hairspray" as Amber Von Tussle, a rival to the lead character, an overweight girl who dreams of winning a dance show. Two years later, she auditioned for "X-Men: Apocalypse," landing the role of Jubilee, a mutant with yellow trench coats.
Following her performance in "X-Men," Condor starred in "Patriots Day," a drama based on the investigation into the Boston Marathon bombing. She then appeared in the romantic television series "High School Lover," about a 17-year-old "Lolita" who becomes involved with an older man.
Condor's breakout role came in "To All the Boys I've Loved Before," alongside Noah Centineo, who became a close friend. Her character, Lara Jean Covey, inspired Halloween costumes that imitated her signature style, down to her scrunchie hair accessory.
Philanthropy
Beyond her acting career, Condor is an active philanthropist. She works with Asia Foundation to provide four years of education to girls in her hometown of Can Tho, supplying them with books, food, uniforms, and bicycles.
Personal Life
Condor has been in a relationship with Anthony De La Torre (the young Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales") since August 2018. The couple has celebrated their 3-year anniversary together. Condor has admitted to writing love letters to De La Torre, just like her character in "To All the Boys I've Loved Before."

In 2019, Condor had four films in the works: "Alita: Battle Angel" by Robert Rodriguez, the romantic "Summer Night," the television series "Deadly Class," and the thriller "Warning."
