Biography of Elena Franchuk

Elena Franchuk is the daughter of the second President of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma. She was born on December 3, 1970, in Dnipro, Ukraine. Franchuk graduated from the Economics Department of Dnipro State University.

Marriage and Family

Franchuk is married to Viktor Pinchuk, a well-known businessman and philanthropist. Pinchuk is a billionaire and the co-owner of the corporation "Interpipe." He is also the founder of the charitable foundation "Victor Pinchuk Foundation" and a co-founder of the "Anti-AIDS Foundation." Franchuk and Pinchuk have a daughter together named Ekaterina, born in 2003. Franchuk also has a son named Roman from a previous marriage.

Professional Career

From 1995 to 1996, Franchuk worked in the economic department of "PrivatBank." From 1997 to 2004, she served as the Deputy Director of Marketing for "Kyivstar," one of the leading Ukrainian mobile operators.

Since 2003, Franchuk has been the head of the charitable organization "Elena Franchuk Foundation - Anti-AIDS." It is currently the first and only private foundation in Ukraine dedicated to combating AIDS.

Recognition and Achievements

In November 2007, Franchuk was ranked 17th in the "Top 100 Most Influential Women in Ukraine" list by the magazine "Focus." According to the compilers of the list, her influence is attributed to her "public activities, family status, and ownership of shares in the media holding of V. Pinchuk (Facts and Comments, Novy Kanal, ICTV, STB, M1, and several radio stations)."

In early 2008, it was reported that Franchuk, with her involvement, set a new record for the price of real estate in the United Kingdom. According to "The Evening Standard" newspaper, she purchased a five-story Victorian villa in Kensington for 80 million pounds sterling. The previous record was held by steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, who paid 67 million pounds sterling for a mansion.
