Education
Elena Moshents moved from her homeland of Mykolaiv to pursue her studies in Kyiv. From 1997 to 2000, she excelled at the Ukrainian Humanitarian Lyceum, specializing in economics. Her academic achievements continued at the prestigious Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Master's degree in Economic Theory from the Faculty of Economics in 2006.
Undeterred by her already impressive educational pedigree, she embarked on further pursuits. From 2002 to 2007, she delved into the legal realm at the Academy of Municipal Management, earning a Bachelor's degree in Law. Her third higher education endeavor culminated in a Master's degree in Public Administration and Administration from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which she earned with honors in 2021.
Beyond her formal education, Moshents has actively sought professional development. She completed coursework at the Ukrainian School of Legislation at the Institute of Legislation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2020 and obtained certificates in international humanitarian law and communications tools. Additionally, she has undergone training at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy's School of Digital Journalism.
Journalistic Career
Moshents' journalism career began in 2006 when she joined the Economic newspaper group. She rose through the ranks at "InvestGazeta," a weekly business publication, eventually becoming an editor. Specializing in finance, her writing skills earned her recognition as Ukraine's top journalist in the category of "Banks. Finance. Investments" in 2013 at the PRESSзвание awards.
Over the years, she held editorial leadership positions at several prominent media outlets, including ekonomika+, "Top-100. Largest Ratings," delo.ua, "Capital," and "Business." Her comprehensive understanding of the business landscape honed her abilities as a keen financial analyst.
Political Journey
In 2019, Moshents ventured into the political arena, running for parliament as a member of the "Servant of the People" party. Her election placed her in the 55th position on the party list. Shortly after becoming a Verkhovna Rada member, she joined the "Servant of the People" party and became the deputy chairman of the Anti-Corruption Policy Committee.
Her political engagement has extended beyond domestic affairs. She has served on the Executive Committee of the National Parliamentary Group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union and has been an active participant in parliamentary delegations to the European Union, the Council of Europe, and various countries around the world.
Within the "Servant of the People" party, Moshents has taken on a leadership role as the mentor for the Mykolaiv region in the party's women's wing, "Ze!Women." She has consistently advocated for women's empowerment and gender equality.
