Early CareerMarta Baird began her cycling career in April 2009 at the KSDYUSSHOR cycling section in Kharkiv, under the guidance of coach Maria Zarvanskaya. In 2010, she achieved her first medals at the Ukrainian Championships and started studying at the Kharkiv State University of Physical Culture and Sport (KhGVUFK 1) under coach Sergei Telitsyn.
National Success
From 2010 to 2017, Baird became a multiple-time Ukrainian national champion in various track cycling disciplines. In 2012, she also claimed the Ukrainian road race championship title for girls.
International Breakthrough
Baird made her international debut at the 2014 and 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. In 2015, she won her first medal at the European Junior Championships, a bronze in the 500m time trial.
World Cup Triumph
A major milestone in Baird's career came in 2017 when she won the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in the sprint event. This victory propelled her to prominence in the international cycling scene.
