The Birth of Oscar Pill

As a young intern in a children's oncology ward, a young man was deeply moved by the drawings children made of their illnesses. Inspired by their resilience, he vowed to help them cope with the fear of their condition. Thus, Oscar Pill (Pill = tablet or pill) was born.

From Medicine to Literature

French author Élie Anderson, known for his detective thrillers, was born in Strasbourg, on the banks of the Rhine River. His literary journey began after studying medicine for several years, leading him to devote himself to the organization "Médecins du Monde" (Doctors of the World). In the summer of 1998, he moved to Marseille, where he spent two months in the countryside, during which he wrote his first thriller.

A Literary Debut

In January 1999, he submitted the manuscript of his debut novel, "Le Sang Des Sirenes," to several publishers, and a year later, the book hit French bookstores. Critically acclaimed, it won the "Polar" Prize, fueling the author's inspiration. To write his second novel, "Le Cinquième Patient" (2001), he again retreated from the city, successfully replicating the success of his debut.

The Television Experiment

In 2005, Élie Anderson collaborated on the French medical television series "Le cocon — Débuts à l'hôpital." In 2011, he published "Demain est une autre vie," featuring a surgeon as its protagonist.

Venturing into Fantasy

After nearly a decade of writing detective thrillers, he ventured into fantasy under the pseudonym Élie Anderson. This choice was intended to prevent readers from associating his name with his previous genre. It allowed for a fresh start, unfettered by expectations.

The Fantasy Series

Élie Anderson's fantasy series spans five volumes and has been translated into multiple languages. The first novel was released in Russian in June 2014. Warner Bros. acquired the rights to adapt the series into a film, scheduled for release in 2016. Presently, Élie Anderson is fully dedicated to his literary pursuits.
