Biography of Eliya Baskin
Eliya Baskin is a Soviet and American actor. He was born in Riga, into a Jewish family of Frida and Zalman Baskin. After graduating from school, he went to Moscow to study acting. In 1971, he completed the department of spoken genre at the Moscow Variety and Circus School and worked in the orchestra conducted by Utyosov. From 1972, he performed at the Moscow Miniatyur Theater. He received an award for Best Young Actor at the festival at the Moscow Comedy Theater.

Transition to the United States
In 1976, Baskin emigrated from the Soviet Union to the United States, where he continued his acting career in Hollywood and on television. On April 1, 1985, he became a citizen of the United States. Since 1995, he has been married to Marina Baskin and they have one child, their daughter Michelle Baskin.
Acting Career and Collaborations
Baskin has appeared in films such as "Moscow on the Hudson," "Air Force One," "2010," "Spider-Man 2," "Spider-Man 3," and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon." He had a close friendship with Saveliy Kramarov, who emigrated from the Soviet Union and came to the United States at the invitation of Baskin in the early 1980s. Baskin was also friends with Robin Williams, and their relationship developed during their collaboration on the film "Moscow on the Hudson."
