Early Life and Education
Yelyzaveta Bohutska was born in a family with a military background. Her father fought in World War II and later served in Poland, while her mother resided in Simferopol during the war. Bohutska graduated from the Crimean Medical Institute, specializing in psychiatry, and completed her clinical residency at the same institute.
Medical Career
Bohutska began her career as a psychiatrist at the Simferopol Regional Hospital. Her expertise in the field has shaped her perspectives on various social issues.
Design and Philanthropy
In 1997, Bohutska transitioned into the design industry. She became a member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine in 2002. In 2008, she participated in a local Crimean television show and won a contest for Best Country Estate. Her passion for philanthropy led her to establish the All-Ukrainian Movement Strength of Law in 2015.
Political Accusations
In 2017, Bohutska faced allegations from journalist A. Dzindza of owning elite real estate near Kyiv while claiming political refugee status. She responded by threatening a lawsuit for disclosing her personal data and stated that she had never concealed her assets. She also mentioned owning unsold property in Crimea as of winter 2017.
Tragic Accident
On October 8, 2018, Bohutska was involved in a fatal car accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian. According to her account, the victim ran into the road against a red light and was likely intoxicated.
Political Career
Bohutska became a representative of Mykhailo Saakashvili's Movement of New Forces. In 2019, she ran for parliament as a candidate for the Servant of the People party. She was elected as a non-aligned member and served on the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy.
International Recognition
In December 2020, Bohutska was placed on a sanctions list by the Russian government, highlighting her influence on the Ukrainian political landscape.
