Early Life and Education

Monica Kryemadhi, born in Tirana on April 9, 1974, completed her secondary education and embarked on her journey of higher learning. In 1992, she enrolled in the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Tirana, where she studied to become an organic chemist. She later expanded her education in 1999 at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Continuing her academic pursuits, she pursued an MBA degree from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tirana (2000-2002) and pursued advanced studies in graduate school.

Political Career

Kryemadhi's political journey commenced in 1991 when she became a founding member of FRESSH, the youth organization of the Socialist Party of Albania. She rapidly rose through the ranks, serving as a member of the Presidency in January 1992 and as General Secretary of the I and II FRESSH Congresses in May of the same year. Her tenure as FRESSH President spanned until April 2002. Concurrently, she was elected Vice President of IUSY from 1995 to 2000.

As a member of the Socialist Party from December 1991 to September 2004, Kryemadhi represented the party in the Albanian Parliament from 2001 to 2005. She also served two terms as a member of the Tirana Municipal Council, where she assumed the role of Secretary of the Delegation to the Council of Europe. A turning point in her political trajectory occurred in September 2004 when she co-founded the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI), a breakaway party from the SPA. Currently, she holds the position of General Secretary of the Tirana branch of the LSI.

Personal Life

Monica Kryemadhi is married to politician Ilir Meta, and together they have three children: Bora, Besar, and Era.

Television and Entertainment

Beyond her political pursuits, Kryemadhi has also showcased her talents on the entertainment stage. In 2005, she performed a duet with Majlinda Bregu at the Albanian music competition "Kënga Magjike" and served as a jury member for the event.
