The Early Life of Elizaveta Mayskaya

Childhood and Education

Elizaveta Mayskaya, also known by her maiden name Kurbanmagomedova, was born on May 4, 1985, in Kyiv, Ukraine. As an only child, she enjoyed a privileged upbringing where her parents indulged her every wish. Her father, Pavel, held three university degrees in trade, while her mother had a technical education that enabled her to rise through the ranks in various workplaces. This upbringing instilled in Mayskaya a strong sense of discipline, though her fiery temperament, inherited from her ancestry in Western Ukraine and Dagestan, often posed challenges.

Mayskaya fondly recalls her maternal grandmother's influence, praising her pedagogical skills and the lessons she learned from her. Her paternal grandmother, on the other hand, had a profound impact on her love for the arts and nature, particularly with her cows. Mayskaya credits her grandmother with providing her with the best milk she has ever tasted. During her school years, Mayskaya excelled in piano, opera vocals, English, and drawing. As a high schooler, she showcased her talents in KVN, hosted extracurricular events, and performed as a soloist at various competitions and festivals. Despite her love for the arts, Mayskaya initially aspired to become a lawyer and won second place in a nationwide law project competition. However, at the urging of her family, she enrolled in the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, where she studied under the guidance of renowned professors.

Career Journey

Acting and Broadcasting

Mayskaya's career began in her freshman year at university when she joined the national television station and became a weather reporter. In 2005, she entered the reality show "Zvezdoy seriala budu ya" at her mother's urging and emerged as the winner, landing a role in the series "Volchitsa." After graduating, she lived and worked in Budapest, studying opera singing while gaining experience as an intern on Hungarian television. She hosted a range of radio shows and became a news anchor for several television networks.

Mayskaya's acting career steadily gained momentum. She made guest appearances in seasons 4 and 5 of "Vozvrashchenie Mukhtara" before landing her first leading role in season 8. She continued to portray central characters in numerous films and series, including "Kriminolog," "Dvigatel vnutrennego sgoraniya," "Steklyannaya komnata," "Elena Prekrasnaya," "Ne khochu teryat tebya," and the popular series "Privet, papa!"

Opera and Musical Endeavors

In 2014, Mayskaya performed in "Coriolanus" at the NOVA OPERA, directed by Vlad Troitsky. The following year, she co-authored an adaptation of the "Book of Job" for the opera "Iov," assuming the role of the Voice.

Personal Life

Mayskaya experienced her first serious romantic relationship at the age of 16. Her boyfriend bore a striking resemblance to Johnny Depp and possessed both wit and charm. However, the age difference proved to be an insurmountable barrier. She later entered a long-term relationship that resulted in the birth of her only son. Despite their mutual affection, the couple ultimately decided to live separately. Mayskaya remains committed to facilitating her son's relationship with his father.

In 2020, Mayskaya revealed that she had overcome past experiences and was ready to embark on a new chapter in her personal life with a reliable partner. She employs the Montessori method in raising her son, fostering independence and encouraging him to participate in household tasks.
