Early Life and Education
El'nur Huseynov was born into a musical family, with his father being a military officer and his mother a music theorist. In 1992, he began studying piano at the Republican Special Music School affiliated with the Turkmen National Conservatory.
Move to Baku and Medical Training
In 1999, Huseynov's family relocated to Baku, where he completed a medical technician degree in dentistry at a technical college. Despite his medical background, his passion for music persisted.
Music Conservatory and Performance
In 2001, Huseynov enrolled at the Asaf Zeynally Baku Music College, graduating in 2004. He also pursued training as a hairstylist and worked in various musical ensembles, including the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Orchestra's chapel, and a church choir.
"Sing Your Song" Victory
Huseynov's vocal talent was recognized in 2003 when he won the television competition "Sing Your Song." This victory propelled his career forward.
Eurovision Fame
In 2008, Huseynov was selected as a jury member for Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade. He also represented his country as a performer, teaming up with fellow singer Samira Javadova to present the song "Day after Day." The music was composed by Azerbaijani composer Govhar Hasanzade. Azerbaijan placed 8th in the competition.
Return to Eurovision
Huseynov returned to Eurovision in 2015, this time as a solo performer. He represented Azerbaijan with the song "Hour of the Wolf," which placed 12th in the competition.
