Early Life

Emilia Isabelle Euphemia Rose Clarke was born on October 23, 1986, in London, England, to a theatrical sound engineer father (whose name is undisclosed and passed away on July 10, 2016) and a director of The Anima Foundation, Jennifer Clarke. Emilia developed an interest in acting at the young age of three after attending the musical "Show Boat," which her father worked on. She attended Rye St Antony School and later St. Edward's School, both located in Oxford. In 2005, she graduated from St. Edward's and went on to study drama at the Drama Centre in London, completing her studies in 2009. During her time in school, Emilia appeared in school theatrical productions and later performed in plays at the Drama Centre and appeared in advertisements.
