Enrique Crespo: A Musical Virtuoso from Uruguay to Germany
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1941, Enrique Crespo's musical journey began with a diverse education in architecture and music in Buenos Aires. He honed his skills as a trombonist in symphony orchestras and jazz ensembles.
Education and Early Career
In 1967, Crespo received a grant to study in Germany, where he pursued trombone performance and composition in Berlin. Upon graduating in 1969, he became Principal Trombonist of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.
Soloist and Orchestral Career
From 1980 onward, Crespo held the prestigious position of Principal Trombonist with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra. His exceptional talent as a soloist garnered him recognition and admiration within the world of classical music.
Founding German Brass
In 1974, Crespo collaborated with renowned musicians to form the brass quintet "Deutsche Blechbläserquintett." This ensemble later evolved into the legendary "German Brass" in 1985, featuring ten talented musicians.
