Early Life and EducationOwen Christopher Macken was born on February 21, 1983, in Dublin, Ireland, to attorney James and Maeve Macken. He grew up alongside his two younger sisters, Freya and Niamh. Macken attended University College Dublin, where he began modeling in addition to pursuing a degree in science and biology.
Modeling and Acting Career
Macken's modeling career flourished as he joined Morgan The Agency and became the face of Abercrombie & Fitch and Braun. Despite warnings that it would be difficult to balance both professions, Macken seamlessly transitioned between modeling and acting. He debuted in the play "The Snapper" in 2002, sparking his passion for acting.
Film and Television Career
In 2005, Macken landed his first lead role in the sports comedy "Stealing Cinderella." He subsequently joined the cast of "The Tudors," appeared in the soap opera "Fair City," and portrayed Sir Gwaine in "Merlin."
