Background

Ergalі Bulegenovіch Bulegenov is a distinguished Kazakhstani statesman and diplomat.

Diplomatic Career

Bulegenov's diplomatic career began in 2003 when he was appointed as an Advisor to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ukraine. In 2007, he became Director of the Department for CIS Affairs within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On June 13, 2008, President Nursultan Nazarbayev appointed Bulegenov as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Spain. Concurrently, on August 22, 2008, he was also appointed Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the World Tourism Organization.

On January 25, 2012, President Nazarbayev assigned Bulegenov as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus. Additionally, he was appointed as Permanent Representative to the Statutory Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). He was relieved of his previous diplomatic postings in Spain and the World Tourism Organization.

Academic Qualifications and Recognition

Bulegenov holds a Candidate of Economic Sciences degree from the Institute of Agrarian Economy of the Ukrainian Agrarian Academy of Sciences (Kyiv, 2003). His dissertation focused on "Reforms in Agriculture in Ukraine and Kazakhstan during the Years of Independence and Ways to Enhance Economic Relations."

In recognition of his service, Bulegenov was awarded the "Ерен еңбегі үшін" (Order of Honor for Labor) medal in 2007.
