Biography of Erica Durance

Erica Durance is a Canadian actress, best known for her role as Lois Lane in the TV series "Smallville." She was born in Calgary, Alberta and grew up in Three Hills. Her parents, Joel and Gale, worked as a truck driver and librarian, respectively.

Acting Career

After graduating from high school, Erica decided to pursue acting and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. She started off with small roles in TV shows, commercials, and background work but gradually landed more significant roles. In 2004, she played the role of Ashley, the girlfriend of Chris, in the sitcom "Chris Isaak Show." She also appeared in the series "Tru Calling," where her character competed with Eliza Dushku's character for attractiveness. Erica portrayed an intergalactic librarian in the show "Andromeda" on the Sci-Fi Channel and played the love interest of Til'ka in "Stargate SG-1" in 2004. She also appeared as the sister of one of the main characters in the Canadian series "The Collector." Erica joined the main cast of the series "Smallville" in the fourth season and continued to appear in the show until the eighth season, becoming the main character in many episodes.

In some of her earlier works, Erica was credited as Erica Parker, which was her first husband's last name. She is set to star in the film "Ecstasy" this year, based on the best-selling novel by Scottish writer Irvine Welsh.

Erica got married for the first time at the age of 18 to Wesley Parker in 1996. They were together for three years before getting divorced.
