Biography of Erik Sprague - The Lizardman

Erik Sprague, known as The Lizardman, was born in 1972 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He is widely recognized around the world for his unique appearance and body modifications. As the founder of body modification, Sprague has gone to great lengths to transform his body into that of a lizard.

Body Modifications

Sprague was the first person to sharpen his teeth to resemble the sharp fangs of his beloved reptile. He also underwent surgical procedures to bifurcate his tongue and has five Teflon implants beneath the skin of his brow ridge, giving him lizard-like bumps. His nails are reinforced and stylized to resemble claws, and his entire body is covered in green tattoos. His lips are even colored with black-green ink. The only thing missing from his transformation is a tail, but due to the lack of a suitable prosthetic, Sprague has refrained from undergoing surgery to acquire a "real" tail.

Entertainment Career

Sprague earns a living through his captivating performances, as people are eager to witness his extraordinary appearance. He enthusiastically participates in television appearances and has been a guest on The Tyra Banks Show in July 2008. Some reports suggest that his body modifications cost him $250,000 and approximately 700 hours of tattooing.

During his shows, The Lizardman goes beyond showcasing his unique body. He engages in fire swallowing, sword swallowing, suspension from hooks, and various other spectacular tricks. Sprague also writes articles about body modification for the publication 'Body Modification E-zine' and leads his own musical band called 'LIZARD SKYNYRD', which was set to release an official album by the end of 2010.
