Wilhelm Windelband
Wilhelm Windelband was a German philosopher and pedagogue. From 1872 onwards, he was a professor in Strasbourg.
Positivism and Correlationism
Windelband was a representative of positivism, which he understood in the sense of English empiricism. He developed a theory of knowledge that he called "correlationism." This theory posits that the subject and object are correlative concepts that arise and exist together necessarily.
