Biography of Eugenija Pleskyte
Eugenija Juozovna Pleskyte, born in the village of Gilegerno, Lithuania, was a Soviet actress and a People's Artist of Lithuania. She graduated from the acting department of the State Conservatory of the Lithuanian SSR in 1961.
Acting Career
After completing her studies, Pleskyte began her acting career. From 1961 to 1963, she worked as an actress at the Drama Theatre in Kaunas, and from 1963 to 1965, she was part of the Academic Drama Theatre of the Lithuanian SSR. In 1965, she joined the State Youth Theatre of Lithuania and continued to act there. She also made her debut in the film industry in 1961.
Awards and Achievements
Pleskyte received recognition for her talent and dedication throughout her career. In 1973, she was awarded the State Prize of the Lithuanian SSR for her role as Kotrina in the film "Gerkus Mantas." She was also honored with the title of People's Artist of Lithuania.
