Jeri Ryan, an American actress of German descent, was born on February 22, 1968, in Munich, West Germany. She is the daughter of Gerhard Florian Zimmerman, a master sergeant in the U.S. Army known as "Jerry," and his wife Sharon, a social worker. Jeri has an older brother. Growing up as a military child, Ryan lived on military bases in Kansas, Maryland, Georgia, Texas, and Hawaii. When she turned eleven, her father retired and the Zimmerman family settled in Paducah, Kentucky.

Early Life and Career
In 1986, Jeri Zimmerman graduated from high school and enrolled at Northwestern University, where she became a member of the women's community Alpha Phi. In 1989, Ryan won the Miss Illinois beauty pageant, and in 1990, she placed third in the Miss America competition, winning the preliminary swimsuit competition. In the same year, she graduated from university with a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts. After completing her studies, Jeri landed a steady job in Los Angeles. She made her film debut in "Who's The Boss?" and had brief roles in various TV series such as "Melrose Place," "Matlock," "The Sentinel," and "Co-Ed Call Girl."

Breakthrough and Success
Jeri Ryan's breakthrough in her career came when she landed the role of Juliet Stewart, an alien, in the television series "Dark Skies." Although the show was canceled after one season, Ryan's character gained attention from science fiction enthusiasts. In 1997, she was cast as Seven of Nine, a representative of the borg race, in the sci-fi series "Star Trek: Voyager," which brought her immense fame and recognition. Following the conclusion of "Voyager" in 2001, Ryan joined the cast of "Boston Public," playing the role of Ronnie Cooke, a woman who failed to succeed in the legal profession and became a school teacher. The role was specifically written for her by the show's producer, David E. Kelley. The series ended in 2004.

In recent years, Ryan has appeared in films such as "Down with Love" and "Men Cry Bullets," as well as starring in the indie comedy "The Last Man," where she played the last woman on Earth.

Personal Life
In 1990, while participating in a charity event, Jeri Ryan met investment banker and future political candidate Jack Ryan. They got married on June 15, 1991, and three years later, on August 15, 1994, they welcomed their son Alex. The couple's family life soon became a long-distance relationship between Los Angeles and Chicago due to their work commitments. Ultimately, on August 27, 1999, they divorced by mutual agreement. Despite both former spouses' protests, the Supreme Court of Los Angeles granted permission to release the details of their divorce, including custody documents. This decision sparked controversy as the initial decision was to keep the documents related to their son under seal.
Three years later, on June 16, 2007, Jeri Ryan married Christophe Eme, a French chef. The wedding ceremony took place in Loire Valley, France. On September 7, 2007, Ryan announced that she and Eme were expecting their first child together, a girl, in March 2008. On March 2, 2008, at the age of forty, Jeri gave birth to their daughter, named Gisele Eme. The baby was born in Los Angeles, California.
