Eugenio Corini: A Renowned Italian Defender

Early Career and Juventus Debut

Eugenio Corini emerged from the youth ranks of Brescia Calcio, making his debut for the first team in 1987 in Serie B. In 1990, he joined Juventus, where he made his Serie A debut on October 21st.

Successful Stints with Sampdoria and Napoli

In 1992, Corini moved to Sampdoria, followed by a brief spell at Napoli a year later. He then returned to Brescia before embarking on stints with Piacenza, Verona, and Chievo.

Leadership Role at Palermo

In 2003, Corini joined Palermo, where he quickly became a key player and eventually captain. However, in 2007, he announced his departure from the club due to disagreements with the management, sparking protests from fans.

Retirement and Coaching Career

In 2007, Corini joined Torino and announced his retirement from playing at the end of the 2008-09 season. He embarked on a coaching career, managing several clubs, including Chievo, Palermo, and Brescia.

International Appearances

Corini represented Italy at the U-18 level but never played for the senior team. He was a regular member of the U-21 squad, appearing in 36 matches, including seven games at the 1992 Olympics. During his time at Sampdoria, he received three call-ups to the senior team but did not make any appearances.
