Biography of Evgeny Kreynis:

Evgeny Kreynis is an actor at the theater studio "St.ART" in Leipzig. He began his theater career at the age of 19 when he joined a theater studio in Pushkino, a suburb of Moscow. Unfortunately, their production was cut short due to a fire at the venue. Undeterred, Evgeny joined another theater studio and performed in a pantomime version of "Romeo and Juliet." He later had the opportunity to act in a staged adaptation of Anton Chekhov's story "The Last Mohican" and rehearsed for "The Feast During the Plague," but left the production after a disagreement with the director.

After a period of silence and immigration, Evgeny reappeared in the Jewish community, where he participated in rehearsals for productions based on the works of Semyon Altov. However, he did not get a chance to perform. Determined to pursue his passion for theater, Evgeny joined a theater group that staged vaudevilles. He played the role of the Spirit of Time in a vaudeville about the founding of Odessa. He also performed in adaptations of "Cinderella" and "A Night Before Christmas," taking on major roles.

In addition to his work at the theater studio, Evgeny participates in amateur performances, reading poetry and humorous prose. He is a member of the "Humor Club" and often performs comedic acts for various events. Evgeny also keeps up with the latest Russian films and series, particularly enjoying comedies such as "Daddy's Daughters," "University," and "Interns."

While living in Leipzig, Evgeny longs for the theater scene in Moscow. He admires theaters like the Moscow Art Theater and the Comedy Theater, and has a deep appreciation for actors such as Anatoly Vasiliev, Alena Babenko, Nonna Mordyukova, and Sergey Bezrukov. Evgeny feels that classical plays and performances remain relevant and modern, and hopes to have the opportunity to portray characters like Count Almaviva and perform Chekhov's stories, such as "The Bear" and "The Proposal," in the future.

Despite the language barrier, Evgeny tries to keep up with the theater scene in Leipzig and attends performances at theaters like the Leipzig Comedie. He is also involved in the "Week of Laughter" festival in Leipzig and has had the chance to watch Russian theaters perform during the Berlin theater festival.

Evgeny's passion for theater and his love for classic Russian actors and performances shine through in his discussions and writings about the theater. He encourages others to explore and appreciate old Russian films and theater productions, urging them to seek out performances by actors like Faina Ranevskaya and Anatoly Papanov. Evgeny believes that theater is an art form that should be cherished and enjoyed by all.
