During this time, Eva decided to pursue an acting career and enrolled in prestigious European and American universities for courses in acting and directing. She studied at the Saint-Paul School of Drama in Paris, the Weber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. After completing her studies, she returned to Paris to begin her acting career.

Eva's first steps as an actress were in several theatrical productions, where she caught the attention of the renowned director Bernardo Bertolucci. He invited Eva to star in his film "The Dreamers". Her provocative and daring role as Isabelle, a Parisian girl who indulges in cinema and sexual experiments with a shy American and her own brother, instantly catapulted Eva to fame. After "The Dreamers," Eva appeared in another French film called "Arsene Lupin" before receiving an offer to work in Hollywood.

Eva made her Hollywood debut in the epic film "Kingdom of Heaven" directed by Ridley Scott in 2005. She portrayed the character of Sibylla, the Jerusalem princess and love interest of crusader Balian, played by Orlando Bloom. Although the film received negative reviews from critics and became one of the biggest box office failures in the US in 2005, it did not hinder Eva's successful rise in Hollywood. Her next role was the iconic Bond girl Vesper Lynd in the film "Casino Royale." The producers of the James Bond series chose Eva over other established stars to bring a fresh approach to the franchise. The film, starring Daniel Craig as Agent 007, premiered in late 2006.

In addition to her Bond role, Eva also starred in the fantasy film "The Golden Compass" in 2007, based on the first book of the popular series "His Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman. She played the character of Queen Serafina Pekkala alongside Nicole Kidman and, once again, Daniel Craig. Currently, Eva resides in her homes in Paris and London.

Despite being offered roles by renowned director Brian De Palma in the film "Black Dahlia," Eva declined the opportunity. Her favorite actors are Isabelle Adjani and Edward Norton. According to Eva, her desire to become an actress was sparked after watching Adjani's performance in the film "The Story of Adele H."

In preparation for her role as Vesper Lynd, a tragic figure in James Bond's life, Eva drew inspiration from Lady Macbeth.
