Cinderella
Once upon a time, kings and princes could only marry individuals of noble birth, while commoner girls who captured their hearts served as mistresses and bore them numerous children. These prejudices have survived to this day, but young progressive children of European royal households have rebelled against the established order, one by one entering into marriages with trainers, waitresses, and models. The first to engage in multiple morganatic unions were Caroline and Stephanie, daughters of Prince Rainier of Monaco, who himself married a simple girl, Hollywood movie star Grace Kelly. Although such actions outraged all European royal families, nothing terrible happened - the princesses were not heirs to the Monegasque throne. On the other hand, their brother Prince Albert, who will assume power after the death of Prince Rainier, is in no hurry to marry, and interestingly, he has been seen in the company of actresses, models, and athletes. Recently, an event occurred that will probably allow all offspring of currently reigning kings to demand legitimate happiness with commoners. The heir to the Norwegian throne, Prince Haakon, married a former waitress and single mother (her former husband is in prison for drug trafficking) named Mette-Marit. Before this happy moment, he had to live with her for several years in a civil partnership and threaten his parents with abdication if they did not agree to the marriage. Eventually, they had to give in. However, their son followed in the footsteps of his father, King Harald, who concealed his relationship with a commoner for 10 years and insisted that she become Queen Sonja in the future. All this was discussed by the noble guests who attended the wedding. But the Norwegian fairytale had a happy ending. And now, a similar story is on the horizon, but with Spanish motifs. Among the guests invited were the heir to the Spanish throne, the handsome Felipe, and his girlfriend, the Norwegian model Eva Sannum. All the guests could not help but notice that Felipe's mother, Queen Sofia of Spain, greeted the poor girl with a nod. After that, Eva went to Madrid to celebrate her 26th birthday and was received several times at the royal residence. This was seen as a sign of recognition of Felipe's chosen one by the royal couple. No one knows how much effort Felipe had to put in to secure the right to simple human happiness. His parents - King Juan Carlos of Spain and former Greek princess Sofia - married for love while maintaining all the decorum. They expected the same from their son, as did the whole of Spain. The young prince is highly popular among his future subjects. He is handsome, intelligent, and a sportsman who was a member of the national sailing team and even carried the flag of Spain at the opening ceremony of the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. He is 33 years old, and for the past five years, Felipe has tried to marry various European princesses. Special hopes were placed on his marriage to the heir to the Swedish throne, Princess Victoria, and efforts were made for them to meet frequently. However, the young people, despite their sympathy for each other, had no intention of fulfilling their parents' plans. At the age of 30, Felipe declared seriously (at that time, by the way, he did not yet know Sannum): "My wife will be the person I love, who is worthy of being the mother of my children, and who is willing to share all my problems, difficulties, and concerns with me. And she doesn't necessarily have to be of royal blood." Victoria, as if seconding Felipe, is close friends with the son of a prominent banker. She approves of her former fiance's relationship with the Norwegian model. However, the Spanish people are opposed to their beloved prince marrying a commoner. 75% of those surveyed said that Felipe should consider not only his personal interests but also think about the future of the country, which could be jeopardized by an unclear queen. Felipe's mother, Dona Sofia, is not against this marriage, but she notices one flaw in Eva - she lacks professionalism, perhaps regal professionalism. After all, the girl grew up in a broken family, with her mother married to a waiter and her father living with his second wife. Eva is studying journalism and marketing in the Norwegian capital, sharing an apartment with friends but struggling to afford it, and working as a model on the side. What particularly angers the Spaniards is that Eva has appeared in magazines advertising lingerie. But for the sake of a royal future, she has given up her profession. Eva's photos have disappeared from the autumn-winter catalogs of the fashion house she worked for. Before the engagement, Eva will undergo a special course in Spanish language and history, protocol, and other subjects that a future queen of Spain must know. And the wedding will most likely take place no earlier than the following spring. During this time, the permission of the king and parliament of the country will be obtained, without which, according to the Spanish constitution, the heir to the throne cannot marry under any circumstances. And then another Cinderella will turn into a princess.
