Becoming Alf

In 1996, Evgeniy was working in the Drama and Comedy Theater when he stumbled upon an advertisement seeking artists for a dubbing project. Despite having limited experience with microphones and the Ukrainian language, he decided to give it a shot. After going through the casting process, he landed the opportunity to dub the character Alf.

Opening doors to new opportunities

Evgeniy's portrayal of Alf opened the doors to new opportunities in the voiceover industry. He went on to lend his voice to other popular animated series such as "The Simpsons," "Futurama," and "South Park." Although he admits that this type of humor is not his personal favorite, he brought his own touch to characters like Homer Simpson, making them slightly more Alf-like and adding a unique twist to the original character.

While Evgeniy doesn't consider himself a collector, he does have a few mementos related to Alf. He owns a couple of t-shirts, toys, and keychains. Recently, he received a phone with an Alf-themed holder as a gift. Although he didn't intentionally gather these items, he appreciates them as reminders of his younger days. He plans to share this collection with his grandchildren, telling them stories of his past as the voice of Alf.

Current endeavors

With over six years of experience under his belt, Evgeniy now has the luxury of choosing projects that align with his personal interests. Recently, he had the pleasure of voicing an alien character in the film "Pribulets Pavlo" and dubbing the series "Doctor House" in Ukrainian as the voice of Hugh Laurie. Additionally, he works as a presenter on the religious channel "Glas." Evgeniy jokingly mentions that he joined the channel to cleanse himself from the foolishness of "The Simpsons."
