Biography of Yevgeny Yarovenko
Yevgeny Yarovenko is a former Soviet and Kazakhstani football player and defender. He is currently the coach of "Esil-Bogatyr" from Petropavlovsk, which competes in the top league of the country. Yarovenko, 45 years old, is the only Olympic champion in football from Kazakhstan. In 1988, he transferred from Almaty's "Kairat" to "Dnipro" and settled in Dnipropetrovsk.
Football Career and Personal Life
Yarovenko was recognized as the best football player in Kazakhstan in the last 50 years. He has been living in Dnipropetrovsk with his family for two decades. Despite this, he will diplomatically support beautiful football in the match between Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
Yarovenko mentioned that he is not familiar with the current coach of the Kazakhstan national team, Arno Pajpers, as he only worked with the youth national team. However, he acknowledged that Pajpers is a competent coach who knows his job well.
Regarding the level of players in the Kazakhstani national team, Yarovenko mentioned that they are not yet ready to compete in higher-class foreign teams. When asked about the Kazakhstani championship, Yarovenko admitted that it is still behind the Ukrainian championship in terms of development. He believes that it will take another 5-6 years of progress for Kazakhstani football to reach that level, as local clubs currently lack financial resources.
Regarding the possibility of Brazilian player Rivaldo joining a Kazakhstani team, Yarovenko stated that it is highly unlikely, as even the richest Kazakhstani clubs have a budget of around 8-10 million dollars. He also mentioned that the highest-earning players in the Kazakhstani league make around 10-15 thousand dollars per month.
Yarovenko expressed his belief that the match between Ukraine and Kazakhstan will be a draw, as the Kazakh team traditionally plays strongly at home. He also highlighted the success of the flagship Kazakhstani football club, "Kairat," in the former Soviet championship, attributing it to their functional preparation and the weather conditions that favored them.
Yarovenko mentioned that he has been in contact with Alexei Mikhailichenko for a long time. They were teammates in the Soviet Union's Olympic team and had a successful run, winning gold medals at the 1988 Seoul Olympics by defeating Brazil in the final. Mikhailichenko was one of the leaders of their team during that time.
