Early Career

Fabio Coltorti, a Swiss goalkeeper, began his career with FC Kriens, playing for their youth team from 1997 to 1999 before joining the senior squad. Despite making only 12 appearances for Kriens, he moved to FC Schaffhausen in 2001, where he spent two more years and played in 61 matches.

European Journey

In 2003, Coltorti transferred to FC Thun, remaining for two years and making 58 appearances. He joined Grasshopper Club Zürich in 2005, again staying for two seasons and playing in 75 matches. In 2007, he ventured to Spain, signing with Racing Santander for a €1 million transfer fee. His La Liga debut came with a 1-4 defeat to Sevilla.

Return to Switzerland

Following his stint in Spain, Coltorti returned to Switzerland and joined FC Lausanne-Sport. In April 2012, he broke his little finger in a match against BSC Young Boys but continued to play with his finger bandaged.

German Success

In 2012, Coltorti joined RB Leipzig in Germany's Regionalliga. He has since established himself as a key player for the club.

International Career

Coltorti has represented Switzerland at the international level. He participated in the 2006 FIFA World Cup and was set to play in the 2008 UEFA European Championship before being replaced by Eldin Jakupović due to injury.
