Early Life and Education

Farhad Mechehov oglu Jabrayilov was born on August 12, 1958, in Goranboy, Azerbaijan. He spent his childhood in Julfa and received his initial education in Germany, where his father served in the Soviet Army. After relocating to Baku, Jabrayilov graduated from high school and entered the Baku Higher Military Command School in 1975. He graduated successfully in 1979.

Military Career

Jabrayilov received his appointment to the Soviet Army in Germany. In 1984, he transferred to the Transcaucasian Military District. Subsequently, he served as an assistant to the head of the military commissariat in Nasimi district, Baku. In 1986, he completed a course for military officers in Saratov. He was then appointed deputy head of the 4th department of the Republican Military Commissariat.

In 1993, Jabrayilov became chief of staff of the 704th Motorized Rifle Brigade, which was involved in the defense of Beylagan region. In 1994, he commanded the 172nd Motorized Rifle Brigade in Ganja.

Recognition and Honors

In October 1994, Jabrayilov was awarded the Order of the Azerbaijani Banner by the President of Azerbaijan. By Presidential Decree No. 307 on April 4, 1995, he was awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan.

Later Career and Personal Life

From 1996, Jabrayilov served as the military commissar of the Garadag district in Baku. In July 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Major General by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Jabrayilov is married and has two children.
