Biography of Fyodor Mezentsev

Fyodor Mezentsev is a Kazakhstani speed skater-sprinter and participant of the 2014 Olympic Games. He was born in the city of Almaty and has been engaged in speed skating for 15 years. Mezentsev attended a specialized sports school for gifted children in Almaty.

Early Career

Mezentsev's first and current coach is Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Sukhorukov. He achieved silver at the 2012 Asian Championship in the 1500-meter distance and has won multiple medals in junior World Cup stages. He also participated in the World Cup Stages, Asian Championships, and Asian Games in 2011.

Accomplishments

Mezentsev is an international-class Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, he competed in the 1000-meter and 1500-meter distances, finishing 33rd and 35th respectively. He won the bronze medal at the 2017 Asian Games, securing the third-place position.

Future Endeavors

In 2018, Fyodor Mezentsev will represent Kazakhstan at the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, competing in the 500-meter and 1500-meter distances.

Personal Life

On April 24, 2010, Fyodor Mezentsev married Russian speed skater Elena Vladimirovna Kozlova (born on December 17, 1983).
