Racing Career
Filipe Albuquerque is a Portuguese racing driver who began his career in karting in 1993. He quickly rose through the ranks, earning two national karting titles before transitioning to the Spanish Formula Three Championship with the support of Red Bull.
Formula Renault Success
After a brief stint in Formula Three, Albuquerque switched to Formula Renault. He made a strong impression by winning a race in Zolder, which earned him an invitation to the German series. He finished the season as the top rookie in three championships: the Spanish Formula Three Championship (6th place), the Formula Renault Eurocup (5th place), and the Formula Renault Germany (3rd place).
Championship Winner in 2006
Albuquerque continued his success in 2006 by winning both the Formula Renault Eurocup and the Formula Renault North European Cup. His impressive performances caught the attention of Team Epsilon Euskadi, which invited him to join their World Series by Renault team in 2007.
Debut in GP2 and A1 Grand Prix
In 2007, Albuquerque also made his debut in GP2, replacing the injured Ernesto Viso at the Silverstone round. Additionally, he became the lead driver for the Portuguese A1 Grand Prix team.
SuperStars Series
Albuquerque debuted in the SuperStars series in August 2009, driving an Audi RS4. He achieved two podium finishes in his first two races.
