Early Career
Flávio Amado da Silvais an Angolan professional footballer who plays as a striker for Angolan club Primeiro de Agosto and the Angola national team. He began his career in 2000 for Petro Atlético, helping the team win two league titles, two Angola Cups, and the Super Cup in five seasons.
Breakthrough at Al-Ahly
In 2005, Flavio made a significant move to Egyptian giants Al-Ahly. He quickly established himself in the first team, winning the Egyptian Cup, Egypt Super Cup, and CAF Champions League in his debut season. The following year, he played a key role in Al-Ahly's historic treble of the Egyptian Premier League, Egypt Cup, and Egypt Super Cup.
International Recognition
Flavio's international career reached new heights at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Although he started on the bench, he scored Angola's only goal of the tournament in a draw against Iran, becoming an instant national hero. At the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, he captained the team and scored a goal in the quarterfinal defeat to Egypt.
Continued Success with Al-Ahly
Flavio's trophy cabinet continued to expand with Al-Ahly. He won a second Egyptian Premier League title as the league's top scorer in 2006/07, followed by another treble the following season, including another CAF Champions League title. In 2008, he helped Angola qualify for the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations, where they lost to Egypt in the quarterfinals.
Recent Years
Flavio's third FIFA Club World Cup appearance in 2008 ended in a disappointing group stage exit. However, he continued to win trophies with Al-Ahly, including three more Egyptian Premier League titles, three Egypt Cups, three Egypt Super Cups, and two CAF Champions League titles. In 2020, he returned to his home country to play for Primeiro de Agosto.
