Fleur Jaeggy (born 1940) is an Italian writer.
Early Life and Education

Jaeggy was born to an Italian mother and a German-speaking Swiss father. She studied in schools in both Switzerland and Italy.

Modeling and Writing

In 1958, Jaeggy began working as a photomodel. During this time, she also started writing. Her first published novel brought her to the attention of Ingeborg Bachmann, with whom she became friends.

Life in Milan and Literary Career

Jaeggy has lived in Milan since 1968. She is married to writer and publisher Roberto Calasso. Jaeggy has translated the works of Marcel Schwob and Thomas De Quincey. She has also written essays on Schwob, De Quincey, John Keats, and Robert Walser.
