Early Life and Boxing CareerFranklin Roy Bruno, known as Frank Bruno, was born on November 16, 1961, in London, United Kingdom. He grew up as the youngest of six children in a family of Dominican Republic immigrants, Linett and Robert Bruno. During his time at Swaffield Primary School in Sussex, Frank developed a passion for football and athletics. Additionally, starting from the age of nine, he attended the Wandsworth Boys Club boxing school. It was during his troubled youth, when Frank enrolled in Oak Hall School for problematic children, that he fully committed himself to boxing.

In 1980, Frank Bruno entered the professional boxing world. With rigorous training and numerous competitions, he achieved 21 knockout victories by 1989. The year 1987 proved to be particularly successful for Bruno, as he won several WBC tournaments in France, Spain, and England. In February 1989, he challenged the famous Mike Tyson for the absolute championship titles of WBC, WBA, and IBF, but unfortunately lost by technical knockout in the fifth round.

Title Fights and Retirement
In January 1993, Frank Bruno faced Lennox Lewis in a match for the WBC championship title. Despite a grueling fight, Lewis defended his title in the seventh round. However, Bruno did not lose hope and continued to train, winning tournaments in England. Finally, in 1995, he became the WBC heavyweight champion after defeating Oliver McCall in a 12-round battle at Wembley Stadium in London. Just six months later, Frank Bruno faced Mike Tyson once again and, after three knockdowns in the third round, lost his title. This marked his final professional fight.

Post-Boxing Career and Personal Life
After retiring from boxing, Frank Bruno found new outlets for his immense energy. In 1995, he recorded a cover version of the single "Eye of the Tiger" for the soundtrack of the film "Rocky III". He even pursued a career in acting and auditioned for a role in the movie "Spice World," although he was not cast. Additionally, Bruno engaged in active social work and participated in charitable events, earning the respect and admiration of many. In 2001, he attempted to run for a seat in Parliament representing Brentwood and Ongar in the Essex province as a Conservative Party candidate, but this endeavor did not succeed.
In 1990, Frank Bruno married his longtime friend, Laura. They had three children together: Rachel, Nicolas, and Franklin. However, they divorced in 2001. In December 2005, Bruno announced that he was expecting his fourth child.
