1908 Olympic Games

At the 1908 Games in London, Grace competed in the lightweight class (up to 63.5 kg). He defeated Frederick Grace in the quarterfinals, William Childs in the semifinals, and Frederick Spiller in the final to win the gold medal.

Grace's victory marked the first time that a British boxer had won an Olympic title in the lightweight division. He was also the first British boxer to win more than one medal at the Olympic Games.

Legacy

Grace's achievements helped to establish British boxing as a major force in the sport. He inspired a generation of future boxers, including the great Harry Mallin, who won three Olympic gold medals in the 1920s and 1930s.

Grace's legacy continues to this day, and he remains one of the most celebrated British boxers of all time.
