Biography of Frida

Frida, a former vocalist of the band 'Police of Morals', was born on May 23, 1971, into a family of musicians. Her parents were soloists at the Kiev Operetta Theater. At a young age, Frida had her first role in an adult operetta called "The Free Wind," where she performed a small aria. She then became a soloist in the choir of the radio and television for a period of time. Frida received professional choreographic education and in 1987, she began performing in the renowned ensemble of song and dance called "Donbass." Later on, she joined the Philharmonic ensemble called "Solo."

In 1990, Frida became a member of the group "Lady Style," founded by Vadim Ptashinsky. In 1993, the group was renamed "Police of Morals." The members of the group shaved their heads. The duo gained their first success with the music video for the song "The Guy from Texas" in 1993. The group participated in a cruise show along the Volga River, as well as in various festivals such as "Shlyager-94," "Slavic Bazaar" in Vitebsk, "Voice of Asia" in Almaty, and "Tavriyski Games" in Ukraine.

In 1996, one of the members, Gina, left the group shortly after their first solo concert in St. Petersburg. Frida remained as the sole member, and all performances were canceled. She then pursued a career as a choreographer and director, working with groups such as the revamped "Mirage." Frida released her first solo album, "Baby," in 1997.

She also worked on the program of the Kazakh singer Rahat for his album "Rahat" in 2000. Frida is married to the producer Sergey Belous.

Frida's contributions to the fight against AIDS in Russia and the CIS countries were recognized with the "Names" Foundation Award in 1998.
