Biography of Anni-Frid Lyngstad

Anni-Frid Lyngstad, also known as Frida, is a Swedish singer and a member of the iconic music group ABBA. She was born on November 15, 1945, as a result of a relationship between eighteen-year-old Synni Lyngstad and Alfred Haase, a married German soldier stationed in Norway as part of the German occupation forces during World War II.

In the spring of 1947, Frida and her grandmother left Norway and moved to Sweden, settling in Torsåker near Eskilstuna. Her mother had already moved to Sweden and worked there until she fell ill and passed away at the age of approximately 21 from kidney failure. Frida was raised by her grandmother, who had to work hard to support herself and her granddaughter. Frida believed that her father had died when his ship was sunk by the Americans. However, in 1977, a German magazine published her photos along with her father's surname, revealing that he was alive and living in Germany. Frida and Alfred met several times, but they do not currently maintain a relationship.

Frida began her career at the age of 13 as a pop singer in a dance band. Later, she joined a jazz group, performing cover versions of songs by artists such as Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, and Count Basie. Her idols at the time were singers Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee. In 1963, she formed her own group called "Anni-Frid Four."

On April 3, 1963, at the age of 17, Frida married salesman and musician Ragnar Fredriksson. They had two children: Hans Ragnar Fredriksson, born on January 26, 1963, and Ann Lise-Lotte Fredriksson, born on February 25, 1967. Frida and Ragnar divorced shortly after the birth of their daughter and officially ended their marriage on May 19, 1970. On the same day, Frida's grandmother Agnetha passed away at the age of 71.

In May 1969, Frida met Benny Andersson, and they quickly became interested in each other. They started living together in 1971 but officially got married on October 6, 1978, when ABBA was at the peak of their popularity. Their marriage lasted only three years, and they divorced in 1981.

In 1982, Frida left Sweden and moved to London. She recorded her album "Shine" in Paris in 1984. There were rumors of her dating multiple men during that time. She returned to Sweden in 1986, where she currently resides.

On August 26, 1992, Frida married her longtime friend Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss von Plauen. Since then, she has been officially known as Her Serene Highness Princess Anni-Frid Reuss von Plauen. Prince Heinrich passed away from cancer in 1999, and a year earlier, on January 13, 1998, Frida's daughter Ann Lise-Lotte died in a car accident in Livonia, near Detroit, USA.

Due to her husband's connection to the Swedish royal family, Princess Reuss became a close friend of the Swedish royal family. Currently, Frida is involved in charity work and environmental protection. In a 2005 interview, she stated that she has no interest in continuing her music career. She maintains a healthy lifestyle and, for her age, looks great. Throughout her life, Frida has been known to experiment with different hair colors, ranging from brunette to bright red, dark red, black, and even pink. In recent years, Frida has settled on being a blonde and no longer experiments with her hair.
