Biography of Friderika Bayer

Friderika Bayer, born on October 4, 1971 in Budapest, is a Hungarian singer. She rose to fame in 1994 when she won the Light Music Festival organized by Hungarian Television. The song that brought her success was "Kinek mondjam el vétkeimet?" which translates to "Whom Shall I Tell My Sins?". Later that year, she achieved fourth place at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Dublin, making her the first Hungarian singer to reach the finals.

In April 1994, her first album was released on CD and cassette, and within two months, it achieved gold status. Her success at the Eurovision Song Contest earned her the EMERTON Prize from Hungarian Radio and the Golden Deer Prize from AXEL Springer Publishing, based on a joint vote of professionals and the public. In the same year, she was also voted as the popular singer of the year by readers of the magazine Ifjúsági Magazin.

In January 1995, Friderika received the EMERTON Prize again as the newcomer of the year, and she was also awarded the Golden Giraffe Prize by the MAHAS Society. In August 1995, she took second place at the 32nd Sopot Festival in Poland and performed alongside Annie Lennox and Chuck Berry.

In 1996, Friderika experienced a religious awakening and since then, she and her husband regularly attend services at the Hit Gyülekezete "Church of Faith". In 1998, her third album's single "Feltárcsáztad a szívemet" became the most popular song on Hungarian radio.

Since December 2001, Friderika has been appearing on the Madár ATV channel in the show "Vidám Vasárnap" where she sings with the music group of the Church of Faith every Sunday from 11 am.
