Fritz Burger was an Austrian figure skater who made her mark on the ice in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Olympic Success and European Triumph

Burger's most notable achievements include two Olympic silver medals, won at the 1928 and 1932 Winter Games. She also claimed the title of European champion in 1930, becoming the first-ever woman to win in the women's singles event at the European Championships.

Throughout her career, Fritz Burger was often overshadowed by the legendary Norwegian skater Sonja Henie. Burger consistently placed second to Henie in major competitions, including the 1929 and 1932 World Championships.

Post-Olympic Life

Following the 1932 Olympics, Burger retired from competitive skating and moved to London, where she married Shin'ichi Nishikawa in 1935. The couple later returned to Vienna, where Burger gave birth to a son in 1938.
