Early Life and Education

Gabrielle Carteris was born in Scottsdale, Arizona, to Ernst Carteris, a Greek immigrant, and his wife. She has a twin brother named James. Her parents divorced when she and her brother were only six months old. Carteris developed a passion for acting at a young age, attending the San Francisco Ballet School before moving to New York City to study at Sarah Lawrence College. She later trained at the London Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in England.

Career in Acting

In 1990, Carteris landed her breakout role as Andrea Zuckerman in the popular television series "Beverly Hills, 90210." Andrea was the editor of the school newspaper and a strong advocate for journalistic ethics. Carteris left the series in 1995, after five seasons, but returned for a guest appearance in the ninth season.
