Early Life and Education

Armenian political and statesman, Artak Zakaryan, was born in Yerevan, Armenia. In 1973, he graduated from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Yerevan State University, earning a Candidate of Technical Sciences degree and becoming an Associate Professor.

Academic and Professional Career

After graduating, Zakaryan began his career in 1973 as an engineer at the Yerevan "ASTRO" association. From 1974 to 1994, he held various positions at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, including engineer, head of the educational computing laboratory, senior lecturer, and associate professor.

Government Service

In 1994, Zakaryan joined the Armenian State Commission for Privatization and Denationalization. From 1996, he worked in the President's Office as a chief specialist in socio-economic issues, and in 1999, he became the head of the Privatization Department at the Armenian Ministry of Privatization.

Political Career

In 2004, Zakaryan was appointed Deputy Minister-Head of the Government Apparatus of Armenia. On April 8, 2007, he was elected to the National Assembly as a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

Subsequent Government Positions

From 2008 to 2013, Zakaryan continued to serve as Deputy Minister-Head of the Government Apparatus. Throughout his career, he authored 29 scientific papers and inventions.
